The Beasts and the Judgment (Daniel 7:9-10,13-14)

Being a servant - by societal standards - isn't anything pleasant or glorious. There is usually a rich, powerful master lording over and exploiting these servants who are stripped of their welfare, dignity and freedom.

But Jesus's servanthood is nothing like that; it is founded on and is a natural consequence of love and goodness.

I am reminded of my parents. They are not my servants but they have dedicated their lives in service to mine, and they've done this only because they've chosen to love me.

Human love and service help us better understand the kind of servanthood Jesus calls us to. It is fruitful and glorious.
