Fully Human, Fully Alive

Our call by God is to be fully human and fully alive. We are a reflection of the god-man, Jesus Christ. As humans, we do experience distress in our lives, but as Christians, how can we come to an understanding of living life to the full? It is as St. Irenaeus says, “The glory of God is men and women fully alive, fully human”. One cannot be fully alive without first being fully human. Our humanity is not a disease that needs to be cured nor a state of deficiency from which we need to correct. It is intended to help us to be human and give glory to God.
