In the line of Grignion de Montfort (1673-1716), this book discusses Jesus' call to follow in his footsteps and take up one's cross. On the basis of the Bible and of Montfort's Letter to the Friends of the Cross, Logister denotes the essence of the spirituality of the cross: the brave dedication in the name of the One, who is called "I will be there for you", to all life that is threatened and despised. In continuation of Touched by the Humility of God (2012), he contends that the immitation of Jesus and his faith mau, in certain circumstances, provoke us into radical choices. This has been demonstrated, among aothers, by the Cistercian monks of Tibhirine (Algeria) who were assassinated in 1996 for their solidarity with their Islamic fellow-villagers.
